For anyone that is having problems doing this, you are probably doing what I did and canceling the building too early.

You have to wait almost a full second after its build when you see the probe start moving to the middle of the geyser(right before he tries going around it) then you cancel and highlight and hit stop on prob

took me a good 20 mins of practice before getting it down perfect and thats where my main problem was(canceling building the second it was built instead of waiting almost a second)
