You may have seen Graythandor’s post with what he has ferreted out of posts made by the Devs concerning what is upcoming for Lotro. Graythandor’s What’s coming? Here’s what we know from it:
OK, so here’s what we know for sure (i.e. confirmed by a dev or the community team):
There will be an announcement soon, potentially at E3 (June 15-17)
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4658401&postcount=226
Fair enough. You guys know we’re preparing an announcement. I can’t give you a specific date as to when we’ll make it, but I can say I just ran into Adam Mersky coming out of an E3 planning meeting and he was pretty stoked!
Turbine will be presenting at E3 under the Warner Brothers banner
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4660739&postcount=27
Correct – we’ll be there as part of the Warner Bros. family.
We will get new icons for something at some point.
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4658437&postcount=234
Actually, I can confirm that right now. There will be new icons!
(I can’t wait for them to be cut and have everyone yell at me for promising them!)
Fear debuffs will no longer invisibly stack in the next update.
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4645110&postcount=20
This was a problem with the way some Fear effects were suppressing one another. When you used Muster Courage it removed the “top” effect and then the effect “below” it came to the surface. This will be fixed in the next major update.
Here’s the upcoming patch note: “Fixed an issue with the “Fright” Fear debuffs where Skills (ie; Muster Courage) and Potions were sometimes not properly removing the effect.”
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4645565&postcount=24
The curable “Fright” Fear effects will no longer suppress one another; the greater effects will replace lesser effects.
Threat squigglies will be universally shown in the next update.
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4650943&postcount=16
I recently fixed a bug that was causing the Red threat symbols not to display if they had just been displayed on a target. This was especially evident on things like Shield Taunt as it follows a threat skill.
I believe there was an issue with adding Blue de-threat symbols to Whirling Retaliation but I’ll check into it again on Monday.
LM & Burg debuffs will be fixed in the next update
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4585586&postcount=14
Short Answer: The Lore-master and Burglar debuffs ‘Fire-lore’, ‘Wind-lore’, ‘Trick: Disable’, and ‘Trick: Improved Disable’ are currently NOT working as intended and WILL be fixed in our next major update.
Long Answer: Significant combat changes introduced in the Mirkwood expansion caused a number of unintended and difficult to detect consequences. The most obvious of which is the fact that certain player debuffs appeared to behave Additively when used against Elite (or greater) monsters when previously they behaved Multiplicatively. Let’s look at an example…
A normal monster deals a base damage of 100, while that same monster as an Elite deals 200 damage:
(100 base + 100 elite) = 200
Before Mirkwood a Lore-master uses Wind-lore on that mob, which Multiplies the monster’s damage by 0.5. So now that Elite monster is only dealing 100 damage:
(100 base + 100 elite)*0.5 = 100
After Mirkwood a Lore-master uses Wind-lore on that mob, which now Multiplies only the base damage by 0.5. So now that elite monsters is dealing 150 damage:
(100 base * 0.5) + 100 elite = 150
And the situation only got worse the greater the monster was: Elite Master, Nemesis, Arch-nemesis.
Question: Why can’t this fix make it into the game any faster than “the next major update”?
Answer: Because we’re fixing this the right way which will save us time, as well as headaches, in the future.
Sorry for the delay in our response. This was a much larger issue than we had expected; we didn’t want to jump the gun until we had fully investigated everything and come up with a plan on how to fix it. Thank you for your patience and to everyone who helped track this down by posting your findings!

The Stunned/Dazed icon will show when “show only dispellable effects” is enabled
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4612141&postcount=55
You can thank our super-star Engineers for this future patch note (ie; future = “next major update“):
“Stun, Daze, Knocked Down, and Knocked Out effect icons will now be visible on your fellowship members’ vitals UI when you have ‘Show Dispellable Effects Only’ active.”
Standard Caveat: This is assuming, of course, that fate doesn’t decide to step in unexpectedly and muck things up.
Something called Enedwaith will be added to the game before the end of the year
We are moving toward Isengard
DX11 is anticipated in the “next major game update” & is live on Turbine’s internal test platform
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4590663&postcount=22
While I don’t have an official ETA for it yet it should be in the next major game update. There are a number of improvements to both visuals and performance on the DX11-class hardware from ATI that we’ve been working with.
It’s still a little early to share public screenshots and videos, but we’re working on it and should have some more info in the coming weeks.
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4659871&postcount=278
I’ll make you a deal. Make a new thread, put that information in it with links to the posts those statements were made in (to avoid people debating whether or not it was ever said), and I’ll stick it and redirect the other threads to it.
I’ll even give you one more item, DX11 is still being developed and it’s currently in our internal builds.
Warg-riders will no longer use their Hamstring/Ride-by-Attack skill until they have been actually attacked.
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4644444&postcount=12
From an upcoming patch note: “Warg-riders have been reprimanded. They will (for real this time) no longer use their Hamstring/Ride-by-Attack skill until they have been actually attacked.”
The usual caveats apply, such as QA finding that I totally broke every monster ever because of this change (which would mean I’d need to revert my change).
Male hobbit run animation will be updated (again)
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4644444&postcount=12
Male Hobbit run animation (because the last one wasn’t very popular, this is upcoming)
Free swift-travel from the Ettenmoors on promotional week(end)s will be fixed in the next update
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php?p=4677523&postcount=23
As we’ve stated publicly several times, this is a bug and it will be fixed in the next update (I’ve seen the fix checked in and the note addressing it, so I know it’s in the next release).
So again very minor changes, nothing really major on the way it seems…Sure the books will continue and one or two new skirmishes will be added but?? are we going to Rohan or what:)??

There is talk in the forums that the delay ih the movie The Hobbit might slow further new land expansions even more, as it was expected that WB would do a big tie in with its release to benefit game and movie. Reference: http://www.imdb.com/news/ni2657217/
I was keeping a friend company and rolled another character to hold his hand (he hates soloing) (and to try the new solo book 1 feature) So now I have 11 plus 50 chars and while we were grinding another 360 mobs to increase hit points by 10? as we gained another level of the virtue, I was struck by the thought that we should:
NOT do virtues, or class traits or legendary virtues, or legendary weapons, the TRUE test would be to level to 65 with no virtues AT ALL, and no legendaries (and legendaries are the only way to get back what the removal of the class virtues line bonus gave us)
They keep making the game easier so I was wondering if this could be done, could you get your rad gear with not a single virtue equipped??
Trying to edit links but having a REALLY BAD vision day, maybe the very high pollen count is watering my eyes so I can barely squint to see the screen last few days.
Even though it was erroneously reported to me that ALL the links here were bad (just the truncated lotro forum ones not the 5 others ) they have been updated and should work, but that is one reason _I_ always include the home url of where I’ve copied and pasted the info from….
