Starcraft 2: Phase 2 over on the 19th + Collector’s Edition, worth it?

Phase 2 will be over on the beta of Starcraft 2, come the 19th.  Enjoy the last of your free play.  The game will return as gold/released on the 27th. Hope we will see some good mods/trainers coming out.  Keep in mind however, that it’s highly likely that while beta allowed trainers, gold/release, will not. The might even have used the Phase 2, to get a feel for exactly how many people were cheating, and what programs they were using.  We highly suggest you wait a week after release, to use any trainers or game hacks, to see who gets nabbed by Warden 2.0 – which will likely be a part of StarCraft II.

Someone asked me, should they get the Collector’s Edition.  Honestly, this is one of those things that could be a good deal, but probably isn’t.  In WoW, you will be able to get a code for a Thor minipet. However, down the line, pets don’t tend to sell well.  Mounts on the other hand can be collectible items and sell for quite a bit. If you want to take the risk, and buy for a future investment, to sell later *shrug*, you might get your money back… or not.  The DVD and the Artbook… will probably be ripped at some point or another, and thrown up as a torrent. SC1, is already available (search for it).  It all comes down to, whether or not you want to try a $40 investment to sell a pet later that may or may not sell at a profit/loss later. My POV… CE’s, are never worth it, and just a way for the game companies to make a little extra on you.
