SWTOR isn’t like most games, and in fact its been designed not to allow multiple instances of the game to run on your computer. That however does not mean it’s not possible. There are a few ways we can achieve this.

Note: While this guide is meant for SWTOR, it can also be used as a template for other games as well, including those which run in browser windows.
The first way to multibox is actually rather simple, run SWTOR (while in windowed mode), in a sandbox. This keeps all the resources separate from other windows. However if you have a fully automated bot, then this isn’t really an option, since getting the bot to run in the sandbox is difficult at best. It might be possible to use a pixel bot to run multiple instances with it simply clicking on a window 2x, once to activate it, and once to do a movement, but it would need to be custom coded for each person’s computer. You could use this method to dualbox if you were doing it manually, without the use of any macros or programs. An example would be putting one character in follow mode, and having the main window kill mobs, switching back for heals etc.
The next way, is similar to using a sandbox. In this case however it’s much easier to get a bot to run within it. We can use VMWare to make some virtual machines, which will run an instance of SWTOR, as well as a bot (pixel or memory), in the same window. This isn’t an option for those of you who multibox with traditional programs to help you do it, since each instance of SWTOR would be in a wholly separate window, not unlike running it on a separate computer. You could manually switch back and forth, between the instances much like the manual way of dual-boxing I mentioned for sandboxes above.
The last way that I know of, is to use InnerSpace and ISBoxer, with Video FX. Video FX, allows you to run a picture in picture of the game (see image above), and sometimes more then one “picture” or game interface. It requires InnerSpace to be used, so if you wanted to Dual box, even by hand, you would still need an active subscription. However this is really the best method for dual-boxers who use tools to help them move the mouse or use multi commands via macro or a keyclone type software.
