It’s happened, you know you can’t beat the hordes of enemies approaching.  The best thing you can do is hide your resources, but you just don’t the ability to hide it all.  You know your wall defenses will be wiped, you know your town will be looted.  You know you will lose all your defenses inside your city.  What do you do?

First, close your gates.  Open the gates when you are faced with an enemy you know you can beat with your ground troops, like 20k cavalry.  Close them afterwards.  Yes, it will piss them off more, but it’s something we need to do.

Next, use all your resources to build more troops. You can make them quickly in waves or do one lump sum.  Don’t bother with wall defenses, the enemy will wipe those easily anyways, and we have no control over when to use them.

If you are unbalanced, more wood then iron, or don’t have the population to build more troops, sell.  Sell everything you have to get gold.  Take the gold (it’s instantaneous delivery), and buy stone.  Buy all the stone you can, at whatever the cost.  What do you do with all the stone? You wait.

Let your city be looted (and pick your attacks with the gates). It won’t be long before the enemy gets tired of picking up stone, and only stone.  Sure they can convert the stone to gold, but the sell and buy prices will be different.  Just remember to periodically raise your loyalty, so the enemy can’t get your city (not a problem if it’s your only city) and of your heroes.  Don’t forget to heal your troops as well.  Out of money to heal them? Sell a little stone.

And the most important information… ask your alliance for reinforcements.  Even 5k scouts will help, but of course 200k, would help a lot more.  You will need to allow your embassy to allow alliance troops to be garrisoned within your city.  The size of your embassy determines the amount of armies that can be housed.  More is better.  If you have 4, then you can have 400,000 troops.  For defense, we want archers, swordsmen, and scouts.

This is a sinister trick to play on your enemies, and should only be done from a city which is ok to lose.  You will get on your enemies’ shizz list really quickly.

This is an original strategy guide, written by Spitt of RPG-Exploiters.com.

On most servers Iron and Wood cost more then any other resource. Occasionally, food is a scarce resource, usually on older servers – that’s just supply and demand however, since NPC farming should get you enough food to last a while.  I have decided I want to build a resource city.  I am going to make it produce both wood and iron, and to allow the storage in warehouses, but to not produce armies.  If armies are needed, they will be housed there from other cities.  The idea is to only make it a resources producing town, good for alliances and peeps who want to have their own “farm town”.

Primarily it will be Lumbermills and Ironmines, with 1 each of Farm and Quarry.  I make those, simply for the bonuses.  Instead of building a ton of barracks, I will build 1, with a ton of Warehouses.  This will allow me again to gain the bonus.  The barracks will be destroyed after all the bonuses are gained.

We will do away with wall defenses, and instead leave the gates open and a maximum sized embassy (with armies housed within).  When we need resources we will simply close the gates, kick the city from the alliance, have our own armies attack, and shift the resources around in the warehouses to make them available for the attacking army.  Once the “raid” is complete, we open the gates again, re-work the warehouse percentages, and invite back to the alliance.

Tip 1: For some unknown reason, most people grab level 10 Lakes.  In most cases since food is cheaper on most servers, it’s better to grab Hills and Forests.

Tip 2: If you or your alliance – or even group of alliances are being pounded by the top few alliances, band together, and stop selling food.  With the lack of food, or even higher food rates, then the enemies who have been attacking you, can starve and lose their armies.

This is a continuation of the Hiding Resources tips, I wrote before.  It’s simply a way I figured out that can make your enemy not be able to get all your resources in one go.  Basically what you do, is convert everything to gold.  Yes, you will lose some to the marketplace anyways, but that’s not a big deal.  When the enemy attacks, they will attempt to cart away everything you have.  Since it’s likely you already used my resource hiding tips, this will allow you to make it much harder on your enemy.  Suddenly, instead of 1 million wood, you might have 17 million gold.  Which means they would need to cart away repeatedly.  If they are far away, this gives you the time and option to then convert left over resources after the attack and spend them on building back troops, defenses, or buildings.

[Revision] buy stone instead.  Instead of 1 million wood, it could become 90 million stone (price dependent on server), which is even worse for them then gold

I can only assume you have read my other articles on what to get in a hero’s attributes, and what the hero’s attributes are for.  As you begin to play more, you will raise your attack skill immensely, and after months of playing it’s not unheard of, to have a hero with 270 attack.

The best attack hero you can get, will be a base 70 attack.  This is a low level hero, which at level 1 has level 70.  If the hero is level 8, then the attack would be 78.  You want to snatch these base 70 heroes up, as they are rare and welcome in any attack, especially at higher levels.

There are some tricks however, which will allow you to find more heroes, then what is listed in the inn.  The first trick we are going to talk about will simply allow you to refresh the Inn, without having one of those scrolls to do it for you.  The way that we do this is to empty a city of all the heroes, and to have a Feasting Hall, the same size or greater then the Inn.  What you do is buy all the heroes up, and let them all go.  It will cost you a bit of gold, but that’s not a big deal, better gold, then real money or the luck of a spin, right?

The second way to find hero’s, is an exploit, and for that reason, it’s for members only… This content is for members only.

You might be wondering why I put WAR cities in the title, its because this is not for noobs to the game, it’s not for people who can’t afford to lose some armies.  However this is a great way to gain 3-4 million prestige in a matter of days.

As you may remember from my talks before, Prestige is good, honor is bad.  High Prestige makes me not want to attack someone, High Honor, makes me know it’s ok to attack them – especially if their honor is higher then mine.

So what’s the method to gaining high prestige?  This content is for members only.

First off, before anyone asks… yes this works.  I tested it myself, on one of my accounts. Some say it doesn’t work. Some will say it appears to, but doesn’t. Some will even tell you that you will see your resources going up, but you can’t use them and if you refresh the page you go back to the normal amount of resources.

Well, if you refresh the page, then your resources will all go away, that you cheated to get.  However, as long at you use this hack, then your resources will continue to come in fast.  It’s a great way to build resources after an attack, it’s an awesome way to supply your friends with resources.  But, it is a cheat, and getting caught with this, can cause you to be banned, so use with caution – that means don’t show off!

There are a lot of ways to build prestige in Evony. However, the town hall trick seems to be key in building prestige the fastest. Also keeps you from being attacked.

There has been talk of taking this source code and making some emulated servers.  There has yet to be an emulated server, which I have found.  However, from what I understand, you will need some programming knowledge and a bit of time.  But lets be real here, isn’t owning the Evony source code quite a trophy anyways?

According to some peeps I was talking to before, Evony cost the programmers only around $10k total.  Now, they are raking in much much more then that every month.

What can the source code do for you? It allows you to make a bot or game hack, which can easily find the correct pointers, making it much more likely to work, and less likely to be caught.

Sometimes you wish, you could just run the game and not worry about having to manually enter the research or building housing and armies.  This bot does it for you.  It also provides a nice server map, so you know where your strongest enemies are.

So I was searching for places to advertise rpg-exploiters… strangely, I came across a online poker site that advertised free to play, and win real money.  So, I decided to check it out.  Now the strange part comes in.  There are Evony ads on the site on a rotating banner, they are flash of course… but they have scantily clad women.  Now, I have played Evony, and no where, not even in chat do we ever see scantily attired women.  We don’t even get avatars or even small icons, that could allude to sex… and let me set this forward… this ad was selling sex… but on Evony?  If you actually look at the ads, there isn’t even a message about what the game is about.

On a side note, I wanted to share some enlightening information… Evony cost less then $10k to create.  I myself spent around $20 on it.  I figure, if I like a game, I can spend money, but I try not to exceed $20 a month…  I played for about a month so the amount I spent, wasn’t bad.  I did get into the intrigue, learned some interesting lessons. I spied, infiltrated, had a bit of fun and laughs, and more… but the thing is, I thought $20 was a lot… I recently spoke with a guy I know, who admitted to spending over $200 on it… o.O   I suppose we each put value where we enjoy things in life.  I just wish I had more disposable income, that I could throw that kind of money around and not flinch.

Anyways, if you have the time, check out the poker site.  You might even see me online playing (be merciful).  And if you make money, give me 20%, k? :D

A short while back, Evony hit the scenes, and it was an instant hit.  I found I could play the game, while at the same time I played another MMO.  Good stuff!  However it seemed so similar to an old game I occasionally play, called Civilization.  If you have actually played either or both of them, you will almost instantly see some resemblances.    However there’s one similarity, you might not be aware of, if you just started playing Evony… it used to be called Civony.  I guess too many people realized it was based on Civ, and they changed it – or maybe it wasn’t and too many people assumed it was based on Civ.  I can’t really say in truth that it’s like Civ, because there are other things inside Evony, that are more similar to other games.  It also reminds me of Warlords 2, but more so of a limited version of Civ.  Thinking on it a bit more, scary as it may seem, it almost seems a lot more like Heroes of Might and Magic 3.  In any case, you’ve read my guides, and now I have a special gift for you.

If anyone is interested in playing the original Civ – or rather Civ 2 (which is actually the 3rd incarnation after Civilization and Civnet), I have uploaded a copy here.  It does allow for multi-players over the internet or hotseat, but there is no way for you to pay to get special advances like in Evony.  There is a warcraft map included, for those of you who want to try a Warcraft/Civilization game.  However I suggest you master Civ, before trying the alternative version of the game.

Unfortunately, one of the hardest thing to do in the game is to gather medals.  Most people in fact buy them – which of course is how Evony makes money.  But using this simple technique, you will be able to more easily gather them.

Assuming for a moment, that you have at least cavalry, there is a simple way to get low level medals.  The easiest way, is to send troops at a level 1 npc town or valley, and repeatedly strike every few minutes.  If the city is right next to you, then you will not have much of a down time between attacks. If it’s a valley, you should only strike when it’s a level 1-3 valley.  Otherwise you need to wait a week for the valley to be low level again.

The best forces to send in on level 1 valleys are waves of 1000 cavalry.  When I say waves, we are talking about 4-5 sets of cavalry, so having 5k plus cavalry is recommended.

It could take you several hours to get 1, however once you get enough you will be able to raise up your rank to Baronette, allowing you to make more cities.  Once you get Baronette, then you will get the rest more easily, when you start farming for resource off level 4 and 5 npc’s. But the thing to remember is to do often, quick wave attacks.

The best way to annoy your enemy, is camp him.  We do this by sending 1 hero and 1 warrior to the enemy, and entering a camp time.  This camp time can be anywhere from 1 hour to 168 hours.  As long as you have the food and the ability to have more then one hero out at a time then you will annoy your enemy.

What does camping do? It causes your enemy’s warning of incoming attacks to forever blink.  Or at least for 168 hours, or the amount of time you entered.  The way that this can cause a surprise, is the enemy will not know when an incoming attack will really be incoming, unless he checks every 30 minutes or so.  This is a great way to cause a surprise attack on him.

The downside to camping, is that if you send your hero out with 24 hour camp time, it take 24 hours to get him back, even if you cancel the attack.  If you cancel, and it’s been 4 hours, then it will take 4 hours to come back.

What really sucks for your enemy, is when we send out a camp, and so does everyone else in your alliance. Worse, they know your position – however we can avert their gaze, if the city you use this trick on, is a lowly city, that you built, simply to annoy an enemy.

Keep in mind, your enemy will likely do the same thing to you, or attack you.  If you plan to do this, make sure you have a really strong force on your side.

For VIP members, I have an additional trick which works well with this. This content is for members only.

Just a little tip for Evony players… if you can build 2 cities, have one.  If you can build 4 cities have 3.  You always want to be able to build 1 more city, then you have.  This way, we can build up NPC’s around the area of your cities.  It’s a good idea to build level 4 and 5 NPCs, next to your cities and higher level ones, further out.

Eventually however we want to attempt to fill in every spot around you with NPC’s, such as level 6-10.  The benefit to this, is less of a chance that an enemy will build a city near you.  If you have only the one city, then your enemies will not be able to take this city either.

There are two ways to hide resources.  The first is very simple, you send them elsewhere.  The easiest way, is to send your resources to a highly defended city.  There are, however 2 other options.

In Evony, there is a general assumption, that honor is a great thing to have.  It makes your enemies think twice about attacking your cities.

Unfortunately, that’s not true.  What has always prevented me from attacking someone has been their city forces.  If they have a high amount of prestige, I might not even scout their city, and just leave them alone.

Honor is a BAD thing to have.  If your honor is higher then the enemy you are attacking, then you can only heal 10% of your troops.  On the other hand, if you have less honor, then you can heal 50% if your troops after a battle.

50% of 90k archers is 45k.  10% of 90k archers is 9k.  Which would you rather have, after defending, with more assaults coming in?

Tip: In order to dump your honor, we must build forces, we know we will lose.  So we build warriors and scouts and send them at an enemy, with a research hero. This is a high intelligence hero, with low attack.  We don’t attempt to scout, but rather send them into attack.  Against archer towers and archers, we are sure to lose.  This has a secondary effect to also raise your enemy’s honor.  So not only do we lose honor, but they raise honor. This is an effective strategy that will be sure to confound your enemies, when you heal 50% and they heal 10%.

When I first began playing Evony, I was under the impression that I needed a lot of cottages.  In fact, having read everything I made a lot of mistakes and assumptions.  After playing a couple months however, I learned a thing or two.  Let me share the War city information that might help you a bit.

First off, you need 8 cottages only.  It’s not SimCity, so don’t build more then that.  Don’t build a warehouse.  I know, you’re thinking you can preserve supplies if you get attacked, but there are easier ways to do it, and you will want the space later on.  At first, you can get by with all level 4 barracks, but later, you will definitely need all level 9’s.  Continue reading »
