In case you don’t read the comments, I am reposting this in the form of a post, for information on Mumbles, a chat software similar to Teamspeak, Ventrillo, and RogerWilco. Mumble, is an open source VOIP program, which will allow you to chat with your clan, guild, alliance, or even family members.
It’s fairly easy to setup. When you first run it, it will run a sound check. Which will help you to set up the software to your liking, volume, and listening preferences. Once setup, you can connect to the chat software or get a host. Now the title mentions a free 50 slot chat server, and you can get that over at UKGame.
To set up, simply make an account. Go ahead and set a password on the server. It can be something easy, like “mumbles2″ or your guild name.
They will send a confirmation email, which will have your server IP and port #.
Use that to make a new connection with mumbles.
First it will deny access, due to a certificate warning. Go ahead an accept it anyways. If you don’t get this warning, just skip ahead to the next step.
Then it will deny access, and ask for a password. Enter your server password.
This should connect you to your server, where you and 49 of your closest friends can chat for free.
If you want to access the SuperUser account, you will need to login, as “SuperUser”. The password is the password, which you made to login to the site, not the server password. If you login under any other name, then you will not be able to use the SuperUser commands.
You CAN run 2 instances of Mumble, one with SuperUser, and one with your normal login. However there’s a trick to it.
