Kurn’s Tower 10 – 15

Once you’re in PoK head to the Cabilis stone which is on the “Evil” side. The stone will take you to the Field of Bone. From the Field of Bone head northeast to Kurn’s Tower.

Once you’re inside Kurn’s Tower you can start killing the undead. Stay near the zoneline, this is where you will be the most safe for the next few levels. All you really need to keep in mind for this level is stay away from the Burynai Sapper. Continue reading »

The Mines of Glooming Deep

When you first start out you’ll be standing in front of Arais who is trapped with you in a jail cell. The very first thing you will want to do here is hail him. In the upper left hand corner of your screen you’ll see directions, for this part, telling you what to do. Since you’re already being walked through what to do, come back to my guide when you’re done this part.

When you finish the first part by giving Arias the key you will be ported to The Mines of Glooming Deep. Once you’re in the Mines of Glooming Deep you will want to hail Arias to continue your quest. After you hail him you will need to head over to Absor. Look at my picture below if to see where he is in comparison to Arias.

There are two spots in Krondon to exploit pbaoe farm. The first is at the entrance as soon as you zone in and go to the big room. There is a pillar on the right side of the room. Go to the back side of it and jump up it until you are as close to the top as you can get, lag jumping helps here. Pull what you like, and aoe kill them.

The other is way in the back towards the bosses of this dungeon when it starts to look like poc. The first main hallway you come to as you get into the poc look alike area. On the right side is the exact same as the above poc glitch. Jump up onto the ledge and get a puller.  Pull what ever you want, and aoe them.

Kelsie is a fishbot I created in my attempt to move from AutoIt to C#. I implemented my AutoIt coded CyberFish into what you see now. Its straightforward and simple. Here is what you need to do to use Kelsie.

WoW Client Setup:

1. Equip your fishing pole

Kelsie Setup:

Duration: Enter how long you want to fish for (in minutes)
Cast Pause: Enter an extra pause (in milliseconds) before next cast, if needed for lag.
Keyless: Check this to use keyless interacting (currently disabled)
Take Breaks: Check this to have Kelsie randomly take breaks from fishing (makes you look a little more real!)
Get PID: Click this to load the process ID’s of all the Wow.exe instances you are running (for multiple accounts on one computer). (untested)
PID Combo: Leave blank for Kelsie to select the first one it finds or specifically select a PID to use with Kelsie. (untested)
Start: Click this to start Kelsie
Stop: Click this to stop Kelsie

To do:

– Implement lures
– Implement auto-equip fishing pole
– Implement teleport detection (testing)
– Implement whisper detection

Known Issues:
- Kelsie does not switch your keybindings back, but the change is temporary. Just go into your keybindings in WoW then click the “Cancel” button and all should be well!
– Will find false bites when WoW is minimized
– May close when WoW is minimized

In Grizzly Hills, there is a quest where you have to escort Harrison Jones to safety. Before he runs to the exit, he enters a ceremonial chamber, frees some chicks and then a giant elite snake appears. Now, this snake spawns many trolls with ~1.5k hp.

In Odenville in a quest from Aaron Edgars there is a quest called zombies in hot pursuit. You must go into a cave, click a pile of rocks in the ground then the zombies come to take your bait.

The trick is to kill them before they reach the end of the tunnel to take the bait. They will continue to spawn until you let them take the bait. They are also very slow and easy to kill, making this a great spot to kill for xp.

Everybody has been wonder what the next big bot would be to replace MMOGlider.  Unfortunately, MMOGlider is stuck in a loop of misery with the lawsuit results from early 2009, Mercury can’t even work without losing money.  Anything he does or earns, beyond the money he needs to live on goes to Blizzard.  Can I feel sorry for him? Not really.  He was first given a Cease and Desist order, which he probably could have kept the millions he earned off of Glider.  Had he instead done the cowardly thing, and simply moved out of the country, or sold off his venture to a company that can’t be sued for selling a WoW bot, then all would have been ok. Instead he chose to fire back at Blizzard, and take them to court – and lost.

So that left a hole open for a while, and now, there’s something to fill in the vacancy, a new bot that works like a charm and already has 1-80 leveling profiles for both factions.  Future releases hope to have quest leveling and PvP farming.

This is a really great way to powerlevel your main character, if you can AOE farm.  But you do need to be able to dual box, either on the same computer or a second computer.  This does use something of an exploit, but it’s not too detectable, nor likely to get you banned since it’s just using the game mechanics to your advantage.

There has been a lot of talk going around stating that Inscription is one of the best gold making professions you can pick up. Greedy Goblin uses it as his main source of income.

Since the purpose of this site is to research and analyze the best gold making methods, I’ve taken it upon myself to get fully involved in the glyph industry on my server and report back my findings and confirm if Inscription is one of the best ways to make gold in World of Warcraft.

At the time of this writing I have finished leveling up inscription and have been actively building up my glyph business. It is turning out to be one of the best methods of making gold I’ve used, other than using the methods in Dugi’s Guide.

A warning before you decide to level up inscription for the purpose of making gold

Inscription has become an extremely competitive market on a lot of servers, profits are gained in a volume model (posting hundreds of glyphs on the auction house for 2-5g profit) and if there are higher than a couple very devoted glyph crafters that camp out the auction house on your server it may not be as lucrative as other methods of making gold.

Glyphs created at the early levels do not yield as much profit as the higher ones due to the fact that players who are only leveling inscription to get the Shoulder Enchant will be posting glyphs they craft while leveling inscription on the AH and will bring down the price below material costs. The relief here is that there are a lot of glyphs which only become available with Northrend Research and purchasing Book of Glyph Mastery and since these require 385+ skill to use, not many players who are just going after the enchant will bother learning these glyphs.

Unless you are prepared to utilize addons to mass post/cancel glyphs and spend at least an hour putting up new glyphs, inscription may not be that profitable for you.

Lil’Sparky’s Workshop

Uses data from the auction house to calculate the profitability of each item you can craft by subtracting the sum of the material costs from the price of the current lowest priced auction of that particular item.

Quick Auctions 2

The most useful and needed auction to be competitive in the glyph business, if you do not have it and are facing someone else who does utilize it, you’ll be way behind and spend much more time than your competitor. You can use this addon to cancel all your current auctions that are undercut (only the ones you list in the group) and then mass post them at set prices, set undercut values (undercut by 1 copper, have maximum prices or minimum prices where it won’t be posted)

Another great feature of this addon is to show you a snapshot of all the lowest priced Herbs and Glyphs currently for sale (after a 1 minute scan) that provides not only the most profitable glyphs that you can craft, but also the cheapest materials available to purchase.

Auctioneer

Useful for sell Inks while leveling and Lil Sparky’s takes data from the scanned auctioneer data so this is required.

Step by Step Leveling Guide

No point in me going into detail what to craft when wow-professions.com has done this already and it is the exact guide I followed but I’ll give you pointers on how to keep the costs low and also get a profit along the way.

Buy the Cheapest Herbs/Inks

As you level you’ll need to mill the herbs you buy off of the auction house to get pigments to make into inks and then into glyphs. You’ll want to buy the herbs which give you the most pigments for the lowest cost.

This is how I figured it out using quick auction 2

With each “Tier” of pigment Alabaster-Dusky-Golden- etc.. there are a couple of herbs that you can buy which mill into these pigments, however higher item level ones produce on average 3 pigments per 5 stack, while lower level herbs in the bracket give 2.5 per 5 stack of herbs.

So to figure out the lowest cost, a quick calculation can be used, Highlighted above are all the herbs that mill Dusky Pigments and we’ll use it as an example to find out the cheapest herb per Dusky pigment price:

[Herb Cost x 5] /  [How many pigments per Mill] = Price Per Pigment

Stranglekelp -  [0.75 x 5] / 3 = 1.25g per Dusky Pigment
Bruiseweed – [0.6 x 5] / 3 = 1g per Dusky Pigment
Briarthorn – [1 x 5] / 2.5 =  2g per Dusky Pigment
Swiftthistle – [0.4285 x 5] / 2.5 =  85s 70c per Dusky Pigment
Mageroyal – [0.55 x 5] / 2.5 = 1g 10s per Dusky Pigment

Swiftthistle is the cheapest herb to buy, at a price of 85s 70c per Dusky Pigment, You’d buy all these up, then buy up all the Bruiseweed, and so forth until you had enough Pigments to get high enough level to get to Golden Pigments and repeat the process.

Also be sure to check on the prices of Pigments and Inks, sometimes players will post them on the AH. If 1 pigment costs you 1g (as discovered from your calculations from herbs), and it costs 2 pigments to create 1 ink, that means buy any pigments lower than 1g, and if any inks are on the AH below 2g you should consider buying them, keep in mind you’ll be missing out on the Rare herbs from milling that are used in your leveling process if you buy the inks outright so calculate that into your decision.

Note – You also receive more of the Secondary Rare herbs from the higher item level herbs when milling (50% as opposed to 25%), at lower levels this shouldn’t be too much of a concern as they aren’t that valuable, but when you reach the last level of herbs/pigments this factor comes into play a lot more as these are used to create Snowfall Ink’s that sell very well on the Auction House.

Crafting and Selling

The wow-professions.com guide basically tells you to craft glyphs which are orange to you that only use 1 ink. However there will be times when there will be two glyphs that are orange to you and it tells you to craft one of them, if the other uses the same amount of materials then pick the glyph which has the highest profit potential (pick the one with the highest profit from Lil Sparky)

Don’t Get Distracted

While I was leveling inscription I was so fascinated with the market and seeing how much profit I could make that I was starting to list glyphs and was tempted to restock and play the auction house with lower level glyphs that wouldn’t offer any more skill ups. While this is ok to do with left over pigments that you can’t use in orange glyphs anymore, don’t waste pigments you could use on skill ups as you’ll be increasing your leveling costs.

It is your choice, but you are only delaying yourself from getting capped and opening up access to the more profitable glyphs and starting your business on a large scale posting hundreds of glyphs instead of dozens.

Follow these steps to get to max level as soon as possible, ensure you use the Minor Inscription Research and Northrend Inscription Research when they become available and off cooldown, and buy up any cheap Book of Glyph Mastery you happen to come across as you are leveling up to be used later.

If you are into crafting, and you want to hit 450, as quick and as cheap as possible, then there are 3 resources I recommend.  2 of them are websites, and the 3rd is an addon, that works well, in game.

WoW-Professions and WoWGuideOnline are pretty much the same thing, with little difference, except for the layout of the actual guides.  I have used Penn’s Ultimate Profession Guide as well, but it’s pretty much a regurgitation of the free guides – or maybe they are regurgitation’s of his guide, I am not 100% sure either way.

The other way I recommend, is with an addon, and it’s pretty much just a guide on what to craft, and how many items you will need, but there are no wowhead links, so if you want further information, you will need to look it up in your browser. WoW Professional, is really my choice to use, since it’s all in game.

A couple other addons I have found to be very helpful, especially when trying to get all the recipes are Ackis Recipe List, and Recipe Radar.  Ackis Recipe List, is great when you are doing research and trying to figure out whether or not you have any more recipes you need to learn, or where to go to get all the recipes.  Recipe Radar works similar in that it will tell you when a recipe is nearby, that can be bought, from whatever zone you are hunting in.  If you use it in conjunction with an auction program, you can see how much money you could make, if u resell the recipe.

This is a great exp tactic, that has served well in other games.  It allows you to DPS/Tank a mob, and take down elite mobs, solo… well with a little help anyways.

1. Find the Kishar Observation post in Heiron
2. Find Brosia, an NPC in the post
3. Right outside the post is level 38 elite mobs
4. Pull the elite mobs right next to Brosia, one at a time.
5. DPS as much damage as you can while Brosia tanks the mob.
6. You get an epic share of the exp (around 150k exp). If you do enough damage you get loot as well.
7. Rinse and repeat.

Up in the Eig Mountains, at the whitehand camp. There is a boss called Diabolist Aino, she’s level 54. She will spawn 4 “minions,” but they are not labeled minions. You receive full xp from them. Don’t attack the boss, let her live, as your group will easily heal her damage.

Every time you kill the 4 “minions”, they respawn and you get endless waves of exp.  In a group, you should be able to level every hour, till they no longer give xp.

I am a strong supporter of Zygor’s Horde and Alliance guides.  Using them alongside Carbonite addon, has always been a wonder to me, but allowed me to level much quicker then just using Carbonite or QuestHelper.  On average, I can level 1-2 level s a day, even from level 70-80, using this guide. In fact, it’s the only guide I link to on this site, that I recommend people buy, because I use it myself.
