It’s happened, you know you can’t beat the hordes of enemies approaching. The best thing you can do is hide your resources, but you just don’t the ability to hide it all. You know your wall defenses will be wiped, you know your town will be looted. You know you will lose all your defenses inside your city. What do you do?
First, close your gates. Open the gates when you are faced with an enemy you know you can beat with your ground troops, like 20k cavalry. Close them afterwards. Yes, it will piss them off more, but it’s something we need to do.
Next, use all your resources to build more troops. You can make them quickly in waves or do one lump sum. Don’t bother with wall defenses, the enemy will wipe those easily anyways, and we have no control over when to use them.
If you are unbalanced, more wood then iron, or don’t have the population to build more troops, sell. Sell everything you have to get gold. Take the gold (it’s instantaneous delivery), and buy stone. Buy all the stone you can, at whatever the cost. What do you do with all the stone? You wait.
Let your city be looted (and pick your attacks with the gates). It won’t be long before the enemy gets tired of picking up stone, and only stone. Sure they can convert the stone to gold, but the sell and buy prices will be different. Just remember to periodically raise your loyalty, so the enemy can’t get your city (not a problem if it’s your only city) and of your heroes. Don’t forget to heal your troops as well. Out of money to heal them? Sell a little stone.
And the most important information… ask your alliance for reinforcements. Even 5k scouts will help, but of course 200k, would help a lot more. You will need to allow your embassy to allow alliance troops to be garrisoned within your city. The size of your embassy determines the amount of armies that can be housed. More is better. If you have 4, then you can have 400,000 troops. For defense, we want archers, swordsmen, and scouts.

This is an original strategy guide, written by Spitt of RPG-Exploiters.com.
On most servers Iron and Wood cost more then any other resource. Occasionally, food is a scarce resource, usually on older servers – that’s just supply and demand however, since NPC farming should get you enough food to last a while. I have decided I want to build a resource city. I am going to make it produce both wood and iron, and to allow the storage in warehouses, but to not produce armies. If armies are needed, they will be housed there from other cities. The idea is to only make it a resources producing town, good for alliances and peeps who want to have their own “farm town”.
Primarily it will be Lumbermills and Ironmines, with 1 each of Farm and Quarry. I make those, simply for the bonuses. Instead of building a ton of barracks, I will build 1, with a ton of Warehouses. This will allow me again to gain the bonus. The barracks will be destroyed after all the bonuses are gained.
We will do away with wall defenses, and instead leave the gates open and a maximum sized embassy (with armies housed within). When we need resources we will simply close the gates, kick the city from the alliance, have our own armies attack, and shift the resources around in the warehouses to make them available for the attacking army. Once the “raid” is complete, we open the gates again, re-work the warehouse percentages, and invite back to the alliance.
Tip 1: For some unknown reason, most people grab level 10 Lakes. In most cases since food is cheaper on most servers, it’s better to grab Hills and Forests.
Tip 2: If you or your alliance – or even group of alliances are being pounded by the top few alliances, band together, and stop selling food. With the lack of food, or even higher food rates, then the enemies who have been attacking you, can starve and lose their armies.

Alquima Labs is very commonly know as labs, or the Skill Book instance. Labs is the instance on the Asmodian Side that drops their level 42 skill books. In order to gain access to Alquima you will need to complete the “A Missing Father” Campaign quest. This quest is quite a pain in the ass but it gives you access to this instance which chances are you will need to do.
After you’ve completed the Missing Father Quest getting to Alquima Labs can be quite an accomplishment in its own. In order to get here you will need to run northeast from Chaos Brambles. Take a look at my map below to get an idea.

This is a continuation of the Hiding Resources tips, I wrote before. It’s simply a way I figured out that can make your enemy not be able to get all your resources in one go. Basically what you do, is convert everything to gold. Yes, you will lose some to the marketplace anyways, but that’s not a big deal. When the enemy attacks, they will attempt to cart away everything you have. Since it’s likely you already used my resource hiding tips, this will allow you to make it much harder on your enemy. Suddenly, instead of 1 million wood, you might have 17 million gold. Which means they would need to cart away repeatedly. If they are far away, this gives you the time and option to then convert left over resources after the attack and spend them on building back troops, defenses, or buildings.
[Revision] buy stone instead. Instead of 1 million wood, it could become 90 million stone (price dependent on server), which is even worse for them then gold

Original Exploit! Volrath submitted this for VIP access, all credit to him for this post.
When combating in RvR, there is nothing more powerful as being able to interrupt your enemy’s casting, or attacks, when a particularly vicious attack will surely be detrimental to you character’s health. To be able to do it every 5 seconds however, besides being an exploit, is also one of the more powerful effects in the game. This is an Order only trick, it will not work for Destruction. This exploit will allow you to “stun” your enemy every 5 second for 10 or more seconds. It’s not a global cooldown, so it won’t affect any other spell or effect. This will easily allow you to clean up the battlefield, one enemy at a time, especially when they can’t get an attack in to hit you.

I can only assume you have read my other articles on what to get in a hero’s attributes, and what the hero’s attributes are for. As you begin to play more, you will raise your attack skill immensely, and after months of playing it’s not unheard of, to have a hero with 270 attack.
The best attack hero you can get, will be a base 70 attack. This is a low level hero, which at level 1 has level 70. If the hero is level 8, then the attack would be 78. You want to snatch these base 70 heroes up, as they are rare and welcome in any attack, especially at higher levels.
There are some tricks however, which will allow you to find more heroes, then what is listed in the inn. The first trick we are going to talk about will simply allow you to refresh the Inn, without having one of those scrolls to do it for you. The way that we do this is to empty a city of all the heroes, and to have a Feasting Hall, the same size or greater then the Inn. What you do is buy all the heroes up, and let them all go. It will cost you a bit of gold, but that’s not a big deal, better gold, then real money or the luck of a spin, right?
The second way to find hero’s, is an exploit, and for that reason, it’s for members only… This content is for members only.

Go to Naphui Quarter and put hard mode on.
Equip the following;
Build: Glyph of Swiftness, Deadly Paradox, Shadow Form, Way of the Lotus, Golden Lotus Strike, Fox Fangs, Death Blossom, Radiation Field (Asuran skill)
Weapons: Perma Staff and Zealous Daggers of enchanting
Attributes: 16 Shadow Arts, 12 Dagger Master, 3 Critical Strikes
Enter mission, go to the light orb to the right of the bell, up the ramp. Make sure you run away from combat in a safe area.
You can’t kill a star light and they can’t kill you so don’t bother. Your goal is to kill Star Blades and Star Sentinels. You can kill these guys so long as there are 2 Star Lights in the group (not just 1).
If you only want to get the celestial weapons then run around until you see a celestial weapon on one of the birds, it will drop roughly 85% of the time. If you want feathers, just kill as many birds as you can.
When using the attack skills, don’t target a Sentinel because they block with lightning reflex, so target a Blade and your area effects will kill the sentinel, if you time it right.
Be careful about your energy and make sure to have 30 energy when you need to Renew Shadow Form. Skills 4-8 note what they do and know how to maintain the energy with them.
A successful run with picking and choosing the right places takes about 15-20 minutes (because you won’t be able to kill all groups with too many lights) and in the 15-20 you usually get 3-4 gold and 120 feathers.
The profit per hour averages to 16k and 10 gold (the gold could be worth a lot if you’re lucky).
Good Luck, and be sure to tell us how you did.

We have all heard the “trick” of buying low and selling high. With this little bug, you will be easier able to find cheaper auctions to buy, in order to sell for more, or even to better equip your characters at a low price.
This content is for members only.
When an auction is listed you can choose 8 hours up to 72 hours for a duration. When there are several pages of items, auctions are supposed to be listed with ones ending soonest on the earliest pages.
The problem is, the game uses the amount of time the auction has been on, so short auctions (like 8 hours) never appear on the front page.
Certain items like clothing, armor, and jewelry always have multiple pages.
Since the shorter auctions never come to the front page, most people don’t see them unless they fish through a number of (slow loading) pages to look for them.
Several pages back, you can find extra groups of auctions ending for each duration (8, 24, and 48 hour). Since not very many people see these auctions, you can get some incredible deals by just bidding the minimum.
Note:
Also keep in mind that if you are online at odd hours, even fewer people will be around to compete for the items that are ending. And when posting items, remember that they will only get to the first page if you use 72 hour listings. Also try to start your auctions at a time of day when the most people will see them and be on to compete when they are up to the first page.

This is a Dungeons & Dragons Online exploit, which will allow you to farm White Ice Game coins, without skates, quickly and easily.
In the harbor, the stairway above Berne Jorne, the questgiver for the quest “Arachniphobia“, has a small ledge near the top of the second set of steps. Follow this ledge south, making sure you hug the wall.
You will notice one White Ice Game Coin floating in the air a little out from the ledge. The ledge you are standing on is under the Winter Ice Games Ski Jump. If you jump off the edge of the ledge, you will have an effect similiar to feather fall called “Light Gravity”. So, jump off the ledge, grab the coin, and safely float back to the ledge. Now you can change the marketplace instance you’re in, to another using the menu above your map. Rinse/Repeat.
This trick works best if there are 5 or more instances at the same time. Less than that and you will end up having to wait for coins to spawn.

I recently decided to try the 10 day trial of Fallen Earth. I had been in the beta, and was unimpressed. In fact, there wasn’t much change to my impressions. Though I did appreciate the GM’s being on constantly to help answer questions or moderate the chat.
To level the fastest in Fallen Earth, I found that doing quests is not fast. Part of the reason it’s not fast, is that the game world is so large, and running, even on horseback, takes a while to get to and from each quest area. The fastest way to level, is in fact to simply find a good spot with fast respawns, and to grind level. I found that melee fighters are the best, as they don’t have to worry about running out of ammo and crafting.
I do recommend having First Aid, and making bandages. Fight humanoids and zombies for their cloth drops, and while fighting, have a continuous supply of bandages being made. In a lull you can complete the bandages.
The best spots that I personally found were inside the nearby mines/dungeons.
Tip: You should always do the starter quests for new alts, to get your free mount.

I know this sounds stupid to most people, but it’s something I have learned over playing many many games… read the manual first. The manual will give you a quick overview, and you won’t waste time in game, asking people how to do this or that. I recently tried out a 10 day trial of Fallen Earth, and having read the manual, I didn’t waste the average of 3 days most people lose in the beginning of play, to keep asking the same stupid question, like “how do I open my pack” or “how do I reload my weapon”. Not only will you save the time, not asking stupid questions, but normally, you also speed by other levelers because you know the basic information that they couldn’t be bothered with, because they wanted to jump right in.
The StarTrek Online Manual, is worth a read, even though the information is available online – I prefer hard copies, but thats just me.
If you want to play StarTrek Online, you can buy StarTrek Online key from Shattered Crystal and download the game directly from StarTrek site.

You’re probably wondering why I am posting this, when this site is for MMO’s and RPG’s, right? Well the otherday, I was trying out Fallen Earth, and popped into one of their “casinos” to check it out. They had some slot machines (don’t play them) and blackjack. So I went ahead and played and doubled my money. Worked out well for me, and I had some more chips (the currency in FE). So I began to think of all the mmo’s out there, which also have games inside the games, and am now going to share with you, a playing strategy, I came up with after 2 years of dealing blackjack in Las Vegas casinos. I dealt a total of 10 years, and dealt blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker as a dealer, so have an extensive knowledge of each game. Of these games, the house advantage is about 4% in Blackjack, 1.5% in Craps (on some bets), astronomical in Roulette, and about 1-5% in Poker… of course in Poker the house gets a take of the pot.
First off, let me explain something about my playing strategy… you can play like this in casinos, it works. It also pisses off a ton of people, who always refer to “the book”. The Book, is a playing strategy thats similar to mine, but written with some differences that make it safer to play. To explain my playing strategy, let me start by telling you most simply what blackjack is. Blackjack is a game played with up to 7 players who bet against the dealer. The player tries to get closest to 21, without going over, yet still beating the dealer.
In all, there are 13 different cards in a Blackjack deck. They are the Ace, which counts as either 1 or 11, and you can play it as either. There are also the 2-10, jack, queen, and king. The J, Q, K count as 10, and represent 10. In all there are 4 cards of the 13, which count as 10. Thats about 1/3 of the cards in the deck. Sometimes in Blackjack, the 2, is refered to the dealer’s ace. This is because when the dealer has a 2 up, the chance of having a 10 underneath AND getting another 10 to pust is very difficult, there’s about a 1/10 chance of that happening. More often, the dealer will make a hand with a 2 up. I am telling you this now, as this will play into my strategy, which you will see.
When the dealer is showing a 7 or higher, you want to assume that the dealer is going to have a hand they can stand on. This means you want to hit till your cards equal 17 or more.
If the dealer is showing an Ace up, there is a 1/3 chance the dealer will get Blackjack, which is an Ace and any 10 (10, J, Q, K). The dealer will always ask for insurance. Knowing that there is about a 1/3 chance he will have blackjack, you shouldn’t insure your bet, ever!
If the dealer is showing a 2-6 up, we assume the dealer has a 10 underneath and and try not to bust ourself or get into situations where we can bust – which is to go over 21.
Special circumstances…
- If you have a 12 or 13 and the dealer is showing a 2 up, you should hit once.
- If the dealer is showing a 3 up, and you have 12, you should hit once.
- If you have a pair of Aces… should should hit them. Never spit them! The chance that you will make 2 winning hands is about 25% of the time. More likely then not, you will push, and only a 25% chance to win. Hitting them, gives you a better chance to make a hand.
- If you have a pair of 8s. Split them when the dealer is showing a 2-8. Do not split if the dealer is showing a 9, 10, J, Q, K, Ace.
- If you have a pair of 9’s… Stay. Do not split them under any circumstances.
- If you have a pair of 10, J, Q, K, or any combination… Stay. UNLESS, the dealer has a 3, 4, 5, or 6 up. Then you should split them, and take only one card on each. Do not resplit them, as you are able to do, if you get another 10, J, Q, K.
- Do not split any other pair.
- Double Down, on 10 or 11 – but only when the dealer is showing a 3-9. If the dealer is showing 2, any 10, or an Ace, you don’t want to risk the double.
- If the dealer is showing 2 - 6, and you have a pair of Aces, you can double down on them (remember, don’t split them).
You would be surprised how many players have gotten up from the table I have played at. Unfortunately, this information is against “the book” and it goes against how others play.
About tipping…
If you plan to play in a real casino, with a real dealer… tip the dealer. The dealer relies on your tips to make money those cheap ass casinos only give them minimum wage. If you think tipping $1 while you are betting $100 is good, piss off! Every 3rd winning hand, you should tip the dealer 10% of what you bet on the average. You can ask the dealer if they want to play it or bet it, or you can make the decision for them… but if you bet for them and then split or double, make sure to bet more for them too.
Here are the most common lies we heard as dealers…
- I tip when I win
- I tip when I am done playing
When someone says either of the above, we know you are lying and will never tip us, so don’t bother saying it. Sadly, as a group, Chinese and Hawaiian’s tip the worst, if at all.
My next post will be betting strategies, be sure to read that, before you start playing using the above method.

The LoTRO Auction House is a great way to make money and clear out some bag and vault space. Also the Auction House will help you to figure out what to farm to make money the faster and more efficient way. I have some guide lines I follow just to make it fair. These are not mandatory, but I believe this is a fair way of doing business, and then I will tell you the greedy way. You make your own choice about which one you would like to use.
Fair Way
I have been told the fairest price to post items is 4-5 times what the vendor would buy for. There for a item selling to vendor at 5 silver would sell at Auction for 20-25 sp not a bad profit. But my opinion is 7 times the vendor price. This is not too bad either, especially with the auction house prices these days. Most people sell at 10-20 times the vendor price. Also selling at these lower prices means your items will sell almost immediately.
Not too Bad
This way is my common advice, before selling your item’s search the inventory of the Auction to see what other people have posted the same item for. Now find the lowest price for the current number you have and subtract 5-10 silver from it and that’s what you post your item’s for. You’re just a little cheaper then the other guy so your item is almost always going to sell first, assuming a person hunting is not click happy and doesn’t check for lowest price.
Also if there is one item that is at least 40% lower then the rest of them, and the market is good (hides, gems, crafting items, etc.) go ahead and buy them out if the math comes out so you can drop the price 5sp below the other guys and end up making more in the end. These are great investments.
Greedy (I do not recommend)
Don’t be that guy out there that posts items for outrageous amounts (you’ll know whats outrageous). You won’t sell much, and someone will likely come along and undercut you. I know you hate it when you need something and check Auction house and everything is high priced. Think of how you feel when searching for items and find them all high priced, and then post your items.
Farming Tips and Tricks
I would recomend before going on a farming trip, to run by and check the Auction House. Search for common items like hides, gems, crafting items, etc., and see what they are going for. If you know for sure you can kill X mobs fast by yourself and prices are up, then go right ahead. It sure beats running off to farm stuff and make it to the Auction House only to realize the market is low today. Check each one and see what has the best price to time ratio. This will also save you that 30 minutes wondering what to farm.
Once you feel comfortable and get to know the Auction House, you can start buying and selling to make a profit. But don’t do it right away, as you might buy high and sell low, or worse, buy something which you think is low, and end up not being able to resell it.
The trick is to find some common items you find there everyday, such as hides, ore, shards, and flakes which all sell on a regular basis. Now watch these for a week or so and see the common prices. Once you see approximately what they go for and you see somone post one for a lot less, you can buy it out and resell it for a nice little profit. Even 100sp extra adds up quickly. Example below I run into the most.
Example:
Dwarf-Iron ore sells commonly for 800-900 silver pieces for a stack of 50.
Now every other day you see someone post it 700-800 for a stack of 100. This actually happens a lot. Buy it out and turn around and split stack into 2 stacks of 50 then repost for 600-650 silver pieces. Your price is way lower then competitors and usual prices. Now you’ve made about 400 silver profit without having to farm a thing.
Hides, ore, flakes, and shards all sell on a regular basis, stick with those items and you shouldn’t lose money.
One last tip. When you start to get a feel for the average prices, make sure to write them down. If you can check every day, GREAT! if not, try to check at least 2x a week. I have noticed that on weekends, prices are lower, and on weekdays, they are higher. Sometimes, you can buy on a weekend, wait a couple days to the weekdays, and then sell for a better profit.
Good luck!
