In World of Warcraft, the Skinning profession enables players to skin the corpses of certain mobs to obtain various kinds of leather, hide, scales, and fur. These items can be used by Leather Workers to create armor, bags, and other items. Some of the items are also used in other professions such as Blacksmithing, Engineering, etc.
Note that even when paired with Skinning, you may need additional funds for the other materials required for Leather Working, so you might want to buy WoW Gold. Continue reading »

In World of Warcraft, the Alchemy profession enables players to create potions, elixirs, oil, flasks, and cauldrons from various herbs and reagents. Items produced from Alchemy have a variety of effects, ranging from healing to elemental resistance and more.
Given that Alchemy uses a lot of herbs, it’s recommended that aspiring Alchemists take up Herbalism as a secondary profession. This makes it easier to obtain herbs on your own as opposed to having to purchase them for WoW Gold from other players.
Proficiency
As with all professions, Alchemy has six proficiency levels, which are listed in the table below. As you increase your character’s level and your Alchemy skill level, you can increase your Alchemy Proficiency by visiting an Alchemy Trainer. While any Alchemy Trainer in Azeroth can teach you Apprentice to Artisan Alchemy, you can only learn Master Alchemy in Outland or Northrend, and Grand Master Alchemy in Northrend.
Training costs WoW Gold, and the prices differ depending on whether you chose Alchemy as your Primary or Secondary profession.

Mixology
At skill level 50, Alchemists acquire the passive ability, Mixology. This ability doubles the duration of any flask or elixir that the Alchemist created and consumed himself/herself. It also increases the effect of the flask/elixir slightly, and this increase varies per item. Continue reading »

These days, so few people craft. They would rather sit around, buying potions and food from others. Those who do craft, rarely want to go out and get their own mats. This is where this simple guide will accelerate you into the world of being rich.
At a low level you can obtain gathering skills from an in game npc (hunter). In the human world it is easy to kill and harvest meat and horns from the level 5 deer. You can either sell these items for a good price, or you can develop your crafting skills and make sugary sweet potatoes (a defense buff potion). These items easily sell and are a great way to get ahead with gold.
You will need a pot to use alchemy, a pan to use cooking, and a knife to harvest.
Tip: Find regular buyers for crafting mats, this will keep you always healthy with a buyer and allow you to quickly get more gold.

As followers of this site might already know, I have been working on leveling my Blacksmithing on my shadow priest. I know, I know – wft is a shadow priest doing leveling blacksmithing… I usually choose a class which doesn’t need the profession – keeps me centered on the profession or the class – and on nothing else. Back to the subject on hand – Blacksmithing guide! There are at least 5 other sites and an addon, which are well known, for their guides on leveling professions. So why am I adding this guide here? Because it’s a damned good guide and has helped me where the others have lacked.
Before I go any further… Please allow me to suggest purchasing gold if you don’t have the time to farm the items. Likely you will need a good source for gold, especially if you plan to level BS. It still takes 15-25 thousand gold to level this to 450, if you have to purchase mats off the AH. I highly suggest UberWoW for your gold purchasing needs.
Now onto the guide…

A whats new in Lotro
2009 was exciting, as for a while there were two major exploits which have both been removed on the NA servers and I believe the EU servers but may still be working (but being banned for) in the Russian server.
The NA Lotro is (to me) doomed, dying, done….
The life time subscribers get on mostly to talk they go through the motions just to have something to do while talking but most kins are reaching out to just get 6 people to do some of the instances (when you get begging tells from people every night needing a healer, and they say they thought yours was one of the biggest kins? and are told yeah but no one gets on anymore...)
The forced three month extensions that many had to buy to get SoM, expired March-ish and those that extended three months didn’t re-subscribe after even getting our massive (complete in three hours) March 1st patch….
The Spring Festival is here but as usual Turbine can’t even get that right a list of known issues: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?&postid=4510986 Continue reading »

In Final Fantasy XI (FFXI), players who take up Leathercraft are able to create weapons and armor using animal hide and leather.
A lot of the supplies you need for Leathercraft can be purchased from guild merchant or from other players for FFXI Gil, so you might want to buy FFXI Gil to ensure that you have enough funds for your crafting materials.
Leathercraft Ranks and Tests
To start your career in Leathercraft, go to the upper level of the primary Leathercraft Guild in Southern San d’Oria (E-8) and speak to Guildmaster Faulpie. You will then become a member of the Leathercraft Guild with the rank Amateur.
To advance your rank in Leathercraft, you have to speak to Faulpie and complete the tests she gives you. These tests will require you to craft specific items.
As with all the crafts, there are 9 ranks in Leathercraft. Below is a table listing the ranks, what skill level you need to be at to take your next test, and what item you need to craft (ingredients for the items can be found in the Recipes section of this guide).

Guild Points
Each craft has a Guild Union Representative and you can turn in a certain item each day to the representative and receive Guild Points as a reward. To begin doing this as a leatherworker, you will have to speak to Alivatand at the Southern San d’Oria (E-8) and sign a contract (note that signing another contract will cause you to forfeit any Guild Points you accumulated while under your first contract). You can use your Guild Points to purchase tools, key item abilities, and signature crystals.
Below is a table of items you can purchase using your Guild Points. Signature Crystals (crystals that can be used in place of regular Crystals while crafting and adds the crafter’s “signature” to the crafted items) can be purchased at any rank, but the other items and abilities that can be purchased require you to be at a certain guild rank.
