It might come as a surprise to you, but with my heavy and medium tanks, I often prefer to sit back and wait. By this, I mean I help guard the artillery and let the “fools rush in”. Let me explain my reasoning here.
First off, after everyone rushes into battle then almost all the tanks who participated are going to be damaged. This means that my tank is going to be one of the top dogs, mid to late battle, with hardly a scratch on it.
Additionally, by waiting, most of the smaller tanks will be out of the game. While individually a smaller tank can’t really harm a medium or heavy that much, it can present a problem with multiples all teaming up.
Please remember though that by waiting, they also get to finish off tanks, which tends to grant more experience. When you get more experience, you level faster, which is why they all wait around, letting others do the dirty work. Reaping all the rewards.
Now if you’re wondering why so many higher tier tanks wait around the base, you will understand why.
