Free to Play WoW Server – WoW Oblivion

In today’s economy, it’s hard to fork over $180 a year to play games.  Even harder, when you consider that you also have to purchase the game for another $75 with expansions. So I began searching for alternatives.  I of course found Runes of Magic, and am playing it now.  But I also found another solution.

I found this server, and was speaking to the owner about his plans to soon add Cataclysm support.  I was a bit impressed with his straight forwardness, and his ability to add features to the game, to make it more fun.  His server by the way is a “fun server”. This means that the exp rate and the drop rates, tend to be higher then in the official servers.  This will allow you to level more quickly, to get better loot, and to possibly run 5 man dungeons, by your self… sort of. Keep reading to see what I mean by that

Here’s the information on the server, if you are looking to play World of Warcraft for free.

• Loot drop rate is 5 times normal.
• Money drop 4 times normal.
• Experience from kills 4.7 times normal.
• Experience from questing 2.9 times normal.
• Honor rate 3 times normal.
• Reputation 2 times normal.
• Run speed is 1.4 times normal.

Most of the spells and quests, work in the game. Most of the same spells by monsters are the same as Blizzard. Also, most of the instances and raids, are also scripted, as the official servers.

The server has 2 custom things that you probably wont find on other servers.

1. Player bots/NPS bots
2. An Auction House bot.

The player bots, are bots of your other chars in your account.  You control your other characters like pets. The player bots act like another player. They help you kill monsters. The can cast spells, heals you, and cast buffs. You can have 9 total player bots.

Theres also NPC bots. These are just bots that when you summon them, match your level. They are like player bots but they dont level up with you, and are not as good a as the player bots. You can have 10 total NPC bots follow you around (and 9 player bots – total of 19).

The auction house bot fill the AH with random items that people can buy. This makes it seem more busy, and allows you to gear your character, even if someone isn’t necessarily actually listing items.
